Artem Loktev, MD, PhD

Dr. Artem Loktev is a urologist and senior specialist with clinical, academic, and organizational experience in urology. He currently serves as Chief Urologist of the Fomin Clinic federal network in Moscow, Russia.

Expertise and Professional Work

Dr. Loktev specializes in chronic pelvic pain syndrome, neurogenic and non-neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction, neurourology, urodynamic testing, general urology, minor urologic procedures, and selected surgical treatments.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr. Loktev participates in research, professional committees, international collaborations, and medical conferences. His previous roles have included outpatient, inpatient, and expert positions, as well as lead and chief urologist appointments.

During the past five years, Dr. Loktev has presented on chronic pelvic pain at professional meetings in Russia and internationally. These have included meetings organized by the Russian Society of Urologists, the International Continence Society, the International Pelvic Pain Society, the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction, and the American Urological Association.

Dr. Loktev also co-founded the Russian Association of Specialists in Chronic Pelvic Pain and helped organize two of the association’s international congresses.

Education and Training

Dr. Loktev received his MD in General Medicine from Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry in 2009. He then completed a residency in urology at RUDN University from 2009 to 2011 and postgraduate training in urology from 2011 to 2014.

He earned a PhD in Medical Sciences after completing a thesis focused on the early diagnosis of prostate cancer.

His additional training includes an observership in urogynecology in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 2020 and an observership in neurourology at Albany Medical Center in the United States in 2023.

Current Practice

Dr. Loktev is based in Moscow, Russia, and has served as Chief Urologist of the Fomin Clinic federal network since September 2024. The network includes 32 clinics.

In this role, he oversees clinical and organizational work across the network’s urology service. His responsibilities include recruiting urologists, leading meetings and case conferences, reviewing medical documentation, and developing clinical recommendations for diagnosing and treating urologic conditions.

Dr. Loktev also provides outpatient care, with particular expertise in chronic pelvic pain, urodynamics, neurourology, and general urology.
