IPPS International Ambassadors
Ambassadors are IPPS members who focus on identifying and establishing collaborations between international IPPS members with similar interests in pelvic pain.

My name is Rukset Attar. I am an M.D, PhD. I have graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Medical School in Turkiye. I did my residency at Zeynep Kamil Women and Childrens’ Traniee and Research Hospital. I did my PhD in Moleculer Medicine at Moleculer Medicine Department of DETAE at Istanbul University. I also have a master’s degree in Heathcare Management. I also have international certificates to practice as a Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner, Neuro Linguistic Programming Master Practitioner and Neuro Linguistic Programming Trainer. I am also certified to practice Mindfullnes, Coaching, Education and Student Coaching, and Executive and Team Coaching. I am studying Functional Medicine at Functional Medicine University in USA.
I worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Yale University Medical School in New Haven, Connecticut, USA.
I have been working as a faculty at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and also at the Department of Moleculer medicine at Yeditepe University Medical School in Istanbul, Turkiye since 2007. I have been training residents and teaching students at the Medical school for the last 20 years. I also teach PhD students. I am specialized in pelvic pain and endometriosis along with infertility. I have been treating pelvic pain and endometriosis, and infertility patients since 2004.
I am a Board Member of IPPS, Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis Society in Turkiye and a member of AAGL I am a dedicated member of IPPS for almost 20 years. I am a member of Research Committee, International Liason Committee and Medical Education Committee of IPPS.

Alime Buyuk, MPT, PhD is a pelvic health physiotherapist, academician, and clinical investigator specializing in pelvic floor health. She is a faculty member in the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Health Sciences, at Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkey. Her primary clinical and research interests focus on chronic myofascial pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, and evidence-based pelvic health physiotherapy. She earned her Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey, in 2016.
Dr. Buyuk is a recognized educator who has delivered invited lectures and conducted hands-on workshops for physiotherapists and other clinicians across multiple countries, including the UK, Turkey, and Canada.
She completed her PhD in 2023, conducting part of her doctoral research at the Labo-Morin Urogynecology Laboratory in the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Sherbrooke University, Quebec, Canada. She is an active member of the International Pelvic Pain Society (IPPS), contributing to the organization of international scientific meetings and professional initiatives.
In addition, Dr. Buyuk is the co-founder of the International Pelvic Health Institute (IPHI), through which she has been leading and developing advanced educational programs, scientific courses, and workshops in pelvic health physiotherapy in Turkey for several years.

Dr. Innie Chen is an Associate Professor and Clinical Research Chair in Reproductive Population Health and Health Services in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa and an Associate Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. Following her medical training at the University of British Columbia and residency specialist training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Alberta, she completed a Fellowship in Advanced Gynecologic Laparoscopy, Endometriosis, and Pelvic Pain, as well as a Master of Public Health at the University of British Columbia. She currently works at the Shirley E. Greenberg Women’s Health Centre at the Ottawa Hospital, where she has a subspecialty practice for women with complex gynecologic conditions and chronic pelvic pain and offers minimally invasive and advanced laparoscopic surgery options. Dr. Innie Chen believes that patient education and shared decision-making are the keys to finding the optimal treatment options for each woman she cares for.

Dr. Savionne Francis is a Physiotherapist with 13 years of experience, specializing in pelvic floor rehabilitation, lymphoedema, wound management, ergonomics, and aquatic therapy. A proud alumna of the University of the West Indies and Nova Southeastern University, she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2018.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Francis is a dedicated advocate for her profession, actively serving the Jamaica Physiotherapy Association. An accomplished international speaker, she has presented at multiple global conferences, including the World Physiotherapy Conference in Dubai and the IFOMPT Conference in Switzerland. She also pairs her expertise with her passion for speaking, creating health and safety seminars for corporate clients. In 2024, Dr. Francis was a recipient of the JEDI Scholarship from the International Pelvic Pain Society, allowing her to attend their annual scientific meeting in Colombia and thereby foster greater advocacy in the field of pelvic floor in her island home of Jamaica.




Dr. Tanvir is an accomplished gynecologist specializing in minimally invasive gynecological surgery and urogynaecology. He completed advanced research training with commendation at Harvard Medical School’s Global Clinical Scholars Research Training Program (Class of 2023–24) and holds a GESEA Level 2 Certification in Minimally Invasive Surgery.
He serves as a Core Member of the Female Pelvic Pain Association (FEPPA) and the Global Interstitial Cystitis Society (GIBS), as well as a member of the Programme Subcommittee of the Education Committee at IUGA, the Hysteroscopy Special Interest Group of AAGL, and is an Honorary Member of AGES.
Dr. Tanvir’s work has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the AAGL–IAGE Young Skill & Excellence Award (2023), the FOGSI Future Award (2019), and the Youth Leader Trophy (2014).
An active academic contributor, he has authored 29 peer-reviewed publications, 12 book chapters, and one book. His areas of expertise include minimally invasive gynecological surgery, office hysteroscopy, gynecological ultrasound, and urogynaecology.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Tanvir is a dedicated full marathon runner.

Małgorzata ‘Gosia’ Starzec-Proserpio, PT, PhD, is a women’s health physiotherapist, researcher, and educator with international experience gained in Poland, the Czech Republic, Norway, Spain and Canada. Currently, she divides her professional and personal life between Europe and Canada, where she conducts her postdoctoral fellowship focused on pelvic pain at the Pelvic Health Research Laboratory, led by Professor Mélanie Morin at the Research Center of the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Sherbrooke. Since the beginning of her career, she has been dedicated to improving perineal and pelvic health for women. She is deeply interested in bridging the gap between research and practice, making science more appealing, accessible, and "user-friendly."

The goal of the IPPS Ambassador Program is to:
- Encourage membership growth, attendance to the Annual Scientific Meeting on Pelvic Pain, and the submission of research abstracts and topical seminars for presentation at the meeting.
- Propose, deliver, and expand pelvic pain education opportunities to healthcare providers within their region
- Disseminate information about IPPS resources to patients and providers within their region
- Identify what is needed in their region to inform IPPS of the regional needs of their members
